Full-Time | Long-Term Role
Chalk Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEND secondary school in Southport to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker for a full-time, long-term position.
This school supports students aged secondary level, all of whom have a diagnosis of Autism. The setting is structured, nurturing, and highly supportive, with a strong focus on individual needs, emotional regulation, and life skills.
The Role:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to students with autism
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
- Help create a calm, consistent, and safe learning environment
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people with autism (school, care, or similar settings)
- Is patient, resilient, and empathetic
- Understands the importance of routine, structure, and consistency
- Is passionate about making a positive, long-term impact in SEND education
