Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant mainstream primary school team. The successful candidate will support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ensuring they have access to an inclusive and enriching learning environment. Your role will involve working closely with teachers to adapt lesson plans, provide 1:1 and small group support, and implement individualized strategies that cater to each student’s needs. You will foster a positive, nurturing atmosphere, promoting social, emotional, and academic development. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and external specialists are essential. Experience working with children with ASD and knowledge of effective support techniques is highly desirable. To be considered for this ASD TA role you will need:
· Experience supporting young people with SEND, specifically ASD
· Strong behaviour management with de-escalation training
· Excellent communication skills
· The ability to build and develop positive relationships with students and staff
· A flexible and patient approach when working with children

· References confirming suitability for role
· Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
