The Role
A vibrant, two-form-entry primary school in NW10 is looking for a confident Behaviour Mentor who can hit the ground running and keep learning on track. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups, modelling positive behaviour, de-escalating incidents calmly, and coaching pupils to make better choices—so teachers can teach and children can learn.
Day-to-Day
- Use proven behaviour-management strategies to support pupils across KS1 & KS2.
- Run short, purposeful interventions focused on self-regulation and social skills.
- Track triggers, log incidents, and feed clear information back to class teachers, SENCo and parents.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with teaching staff to maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
- Act as a positive role-model—firm, fair, consistent.
We’re Looking For
- Recent experience supporting challenging behaviour in a primary, PRU or youth-work setting.
- Calm authority, quick thinking, and a genuine belief every child can succeed.
- Strong communication: you’ll need to win trust fast—with pupils, staff and families.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and the confidence to follow school policy without hesitation.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in the UK.
Why This School?
- Clear behaviour policy backed by a proactive SLT—no mixed messages.
- Regular CPD on restorative practice and Team-Teach (they’ll put you through the course if you need it).
- Supportive staffroom; senior leaders visible and hands-on.
- Easy access—short walk from Overground & Bakerloo Line, on multiple bus routes.
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Commitment to Safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Benefits
- Support from dedicated and knowledgeable specialist consultants
- Continual professional development through online training
- Competitive pay rates related to your experience
- Opportunities within a range of schools and provisions
- Refer a friend bonus with £150 in vouchers
