Are you passionate about supporting at risk students 1:1 to overcome their barriers to learning?

Chalk Education are recruiting for a 1:1 Tutor to work in a brand new school in Wigan. The hours are 8:5-11:45 a day 5 days a week . Tutors who can deliver content in one of the core curriculum areas; as well as a strong second subject are desirable. It provides a bespoke curriculum to young people who are not able to access mainstream education. Students have a range of SEND including Social Emotional & Mental Health, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Pupils may display challenging behaviour, so excellent behaviour management is essential with knowledge of a range of de-escalation techniques.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Requirements:-

• Experience within SEN (Ideally SEMH / ASD- challenging behaviour).
• Experience teaching functional skills/lower level GCSE
• Be able to use own initiative and want to help students progress.
• Be willing to be flexible.

• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
• Eligibility to work in the UK
