| Long-term role | Immediate start
Do you have a love for sports, a patient nature, and a genuine desire to support children with special educational needs?
Would you thrive in a role where every day brings a new opportunity to make a real difference?
We’re working with a fantastic, inclusive primary school in N19 (Islington) that is seeking a committed and energetic SEND Teaching Assistant to support a lovely Year pupil who is currently working at a Reception level. The role is full-time and long-term, perfect for someone looking for stability and purpose in their next role.
About the Role:
This is not your average TA role. You’ll be working 1:1 with a curious, playful, and very active pupil who has a real love for movement and sports. While he can speak, much of his communication is made up of preferred phrases and repetition rather than conversation. Your job will be to help him engage more meaningfully – not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.
From jumping into football games during breaks to helping him stay focused in class, your support will be essential in helping him thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A role model – someone who can relate to him, build trust, and connect through active play
- A confident, caring, and patient individual with a calm and consistent approach
- Someone who understands that communication comes in many forms
- Experience working with children with SEND (particularly autism or communication needs) is a bonus – but the right attitude is everything
- A team player who’s happy to collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists
Why This School?
- A warm and welcoming environment that truly values their support staff
- A strong focus on inclusion, child development, and teamwork
- Ongoing support and training provided by experienced SEN professionals
- A role that’s as rewarding as it is meaningful – where your presence really does change a child’s day
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Commitment to Safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Benefits
- Support from dedicated and knowledgeable specialist consultants
- Continual professional development through online training
- Competitive pay rates related to your experience
- Opportunities within a range of schools and provisions
- Refer a friend bonus with £150 in vouchers
