A fantastic and supportive primary school in Wembley (HA0) is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey while working in a collaborative and nurturing environment.

The Role

• Offer 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with ASD
• Implement targeted speech and language and occupational therapy strategies, as advised by specialists
• Promote and facilitate the pupil’s successful integration into the mainstream classroom
• Collaborate closely with class teachers and the school’s SEN team to ensure positive outcomes
• Help safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people

Ideal Candidate

• Experience with ASD in an educational setting (Key Stage 1 experience preferred)
• Familiarity with PECS or Makaton (highly desirable but not essential)
• A calm, proactive, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils with SEN
• Able to work effectively as part of a team, following guidance from therapists and senior staff
