Chalk Education is looking for an experienced SEN TA for a mainstream primary school in Wokingham, Berkshire. The school is dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to children with a range of special needs and abilities. As an SEN TA within this mainstream Primary school, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure our students receive the best possible education and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist in assessing students' progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Offer guidance and support to Teaching Assistants and support staff.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement specialized interventions.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working in a special educational needs environment is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Ability to adapt and respond to the diverse needs of our students.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
