Chalk Education is recruiting for an Autism Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Key Stage 1. This child has been identified as being on the Autistic Spectrum. With the support of the class teacher and SENDCo, you will be expected to build a strong working relationship with the child.

The school is a located in Worksop, Nottinghamshire and is known for its warm, welcoming environment. This is a large, inclusive school that has high aspirations for its students.   The school has a higher-than-average number of children eligible for pupil premium funding, as well as a higher-than-average proportion of pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

The ideal candidate will have:

• experience working with children
• expertise in supporting individuals on the Autistic Spectrum.
• knowledge of the National Curriculum specifically in regard to age related expectations
• passion to support and engage children with specific learning needs.

• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
