Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEND Support

Salary:  £90-£95 a day

Chalk education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a Southport school. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Willingness and commitment to work with SEND students.
• Experience in education or a care background (e.g. schools, childcare, support work, health or social care) is welcomed.
• Patient, reliable, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• References confirming suitability for role
• Commitment to Safeguarding
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
• Eligibility to work in the UK
