Teaching Assistant – Full Time, Long Term

Location: Bootle
Hours: Full time (Monday–Friday)
Contract: Long-term
Pay: £90–£97 per day

Chalk Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a school on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.

The role involves working closely with class teachers and male students to support learning, behaviour, and engagement, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a key role in providing consistent support and acting as a positive role model for pupils who benefit from strong, supportive relationships.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes to learning
  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • Be confident supporting behaviour and engagement, particularly for pupils who need clear boundaries and positive role models
  • Be patient, reliable, and proactive
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupils’ wellbeing

 

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for role
  • Commitment to Safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
