Position: Teaching Assistant
Salary: £85-£95 a day
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

 

Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH and challenging behaviour. You will work closely with teachers to create a safe and engaging learning atmosphere, helping students develop essential skills and achieve their academic goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to track student progress and adapt approaches as needed.
  • Support students during lessons, breaks, and transitions to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this role you will need:

·         Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.

·         Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.

·         Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude in challenging situations.

·         Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable.

·         A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
