Teaching Assistant for Physical Disabilities – Buckley

Job Description

Chalk is recruiting for a secondary teaching assistant to support a female student in year 7 with physical disabilities. As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to support the student some personal care and assist with coursework in literacy and numeracy. You will also be required to support other students in the additional needs unit when required. This mainstream secondary school is Estyn rated as ‘excellent’ with supportive and welcoming staff members. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

This roles starts September 2022 on a long-term basis, which may go permanent after 12 weeks. Hours of work Monday-Friday 8:30am-15:30pm

To be considered for this role you will need:

• A minimum of 3 months experience of working with children
• Experience of working with children who have additional learning needs
• Experience in personal care, toileting, wheel chairs
• Secondary school experience preferred

• References confirming suitability for role
• Commitment to Safeguarding
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
• EWC registration or willing to apply
• Eligibility to work in the UK
