We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school community in Bracknell. If you have experience working with children and a keen interest in literacy education, we want to hear from you!
About the Role:
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant focused on reading and writing support, you will play a vital role in helping our students develop essential literacy skills. Working closely with teachers, you will provide targeted support to children, helping them to improve their reading comprehension and writing abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging reading and writing activities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students struggling with literacy skills
- Help to create a positive and encouraging learning environment
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Support classroom management and organization
- Participate in school events and activities as required
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role you will need:
- Experience supporting young people with additional needs - Essential
- Ideally with own car or willingness to commute up to one hour
- Proactive and versatile
- A flexible and patient approach when working with young people
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to build and develop positive relationships with students and staff
- GCSE to level C or above in English and Maths
Additional requirements:
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· References confirming suitability for the role (covering up to 2 years)
· Safeguarding training - provided
· Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willing to apply for a new one
