Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Liverpool
Pay Rate £85- £90
A vibrant and modern two-form entry Primary school based in Liverpool L17, are in need of a Special Needs teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with ASD. The role will start after half term (Mon 4th Nov) and continue on until the end of the next academic year (July 2025)
Job Description
The ideal Special Needs teaching assistant will have previous experience working with pupils with Autism. The pupil has no behaviour difficulties but requires guidance to remain focused on the tasks assigned by the teacher as well as some assistance with lunch time.
The ideal Special Needs teaching assistant will be able to provide emotional support as the pupil can become distressed easily, so patience is key for the role. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate strong relationship-building skills as a SEND teaching assistant and the ability to raise levels of Numeracy and Literacy.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience support children or adults with ASD
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Dedicated and passionate about education
