Job Description
Chalk Education has an exciting new role for a Primary Teaching Assistant to support a child with complex needs at a primary mainstream school near Rhyl. The role will be to work on a 2-1 basis to support the individual with toileting, hoists, manual handling and feeding. The child is non-verbal and uses eye gaze to communicate. Applicants willing to apply must have some experience of working with children or young people with complex needs, full training can be provided in manual handling and hoists. The school is looking for a compassionate, caring candidate who can work each Monday and Tuesday 8:45-3:15pm. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this TA role you will need:
- Experience supporting children with additional needs
- 3 months minimum childcare or young people experience
- Experience in hoists, manual handling would be an advantage or training can be provided by the school
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to build and develop positive relationships with students and staff
- A flexible and patient approach when working with children
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willing to apply
- Registered with the EWC or willing to apply
- Eligibility to work in the UK
