Job Description

Chalk Education is recruiting for a teacher to work at this excellent Alternative provision. This school caters for students ages 11-16 years where most students have been permanently excluded from school. Some of the students attend the school as a result of problematic behaviour in their mainstream school, due to periods of non-attendance. some children and young people will face real difficulties in their lives that have created these significant barriers to learning. The ideal applicant will have experience of teaching children in Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 who are of low-level ability to GCSE and have excellent curriculum knowledge of several subjects. Experience of supporting students with social emotional mental health and anxiety difficulties is essential.
To be considered for this SEMH Teacher role you will need:
- PGCE or Teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS
- Experience working with young people with a range SEND including SEMH
- Good knowledge across the curriculum and ability to teach a range of subjects.
- Excellent behaviour management with knowledge of de-escalation techniques
- A positive attitude with a calm but firm approach
