SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary SEND School

Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Chalk Education are delighted to be supporting a welcoming and dedicated secondary SEND school in Bootle who are seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time role with an excellent opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning, build confidence, develop key life skills, and make progress both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with classroom activities and personalised learning plans
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience working with children or adults with SEND
- A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one
- References covering the last 2 years
- A full, up-to-date CV with a 10-year work/education history — all gaps must be accounted for
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
