SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Norris Green)

Location: Norris Green, Liverpool
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

Chalk Education is currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEND secondary school in Norris Green. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to thrive in their education and personal development.

The Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students aged 11–19 with a range of needs, including:

• PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
• MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)
• ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
• Other complex learning difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support both in and out of the classroom.
• Supporting pupils with communication, sensory, and emotional needs.
• Assisting with personal care, promoting independence and dignity at all times.
• Working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning and care plans.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all pupils.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is:

• Confident, patient, and empathetic when supporting students with additional needs.
• Comfortable providing personal care and supporting with physical needs.
• Adaptable and able to work effectively within a team.
• Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
• Experienced within a SEND setting (desirable) or eager to learn and develop with support and training.
