Description
Chalk Education is proud to partner with a specialist school located in Warrington, known for going above and beyond to meet the needs of every child. We are recruiting a forward thinking SEND Teaching Assistant that comes with either professional or personal experience supporting children with additional needs!
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with a range of mild additional needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism, behavioural challenges (EBD), Sensory Impairments (SI), and Physical Disabilities (PD). Whether you're helping them grasp new concepts, providing emotional support, or assisting with daily activities, your role will make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.
You'll work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored learning plans, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet the individual needs of each student. Whether it's providing one-on-one support, facilitating group activities, or assisting with classroom management, your positivity and passion will shine through in everything you do. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people. Patience, empathy, and creativity are your greatest tools as you support students not only academically but also in nurturing their social skills, independence, and self-confidence.
A DBS and prior experience (personal or professional) supporting SEND children are essential for this role, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Previous relevant experience could include childcare, tutoring, nursery assistance, sports settings, or similar classroom environments. If needed, we can assist you with obtaining a DBS.
