Teaching Assistant – SEND Setting
Start Date: ASAP | Term-time only | Full-time (or equivalent hours available)
About the Role
We are partnering with SEND School to recruit a motivated, energetic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a highly-regarded special educational needs setting in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multi-site school supporting children across four sites, with strong support and a positive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom teaching and learning across designated groups or individuals, adapting to a range of abilities and needs.
- Work across multiple sites as required, collaborating with teaching staff, support staff and senior leadership.
- Contribute to creating a calm, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated.
- Assist with monitoring pupil progress, helping to prepare resources, and supporting the implementation of tailored intervention programmes.
- Promote positive behaviour, routines and relationships; help pupils to build confidence, independence and communication skills.
- Foster strong relationships with colleagues, pupils, parents and carers, contributing to the school’s ethos and approach.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in an educational or SEND environment and demonstrates strong commitment to supporting children’s learning and development.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Demonstrates flexibility and resilience, able to work across multiple sites and adapt to the varying demands of a dynamic school setting.
- Possesses strong organisational skills, is able to manage tasks effectively and maintain high standards of professionalism.
- Is committed to inclusion, teamwork and continuous professional development.
