KS2 SEND 1:1 Support Assistant
Location: Mainstream Primary School, Tuebrook, Liverpool
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Full Time, Initially Until December 2026 (with a view to continue)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, Term Time Only
Chalk Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND 1:1 Support Assistant to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in the Tuebrook area of Liverpool.
The role involves supporting a highly academic Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The pupil is bright, capable and eager to learn but finds large social settings and some aspects of the busy school environment challenging. We are looking for a calm, nurturing and experienced individual who can provide consistent guidance and support throughout the school day, helping the child to access learning, develop independence and successfully navigate social situations.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Be confident providing 1:1 support within a mainstream primary setting
- Have a calm, patient and proactive approach
- Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with children and staff
- Support the pupil's emotional regulation, social interactions and engagement throughout the school day
- Help the child access learning and develop confidence and independence
- Be committed to providing consistency and continuity for the child
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, specifically autism
- Commitment to safeguarding
- Experience working within a primary school environment
- Full-time commitment from September through to December initially, with the possibility of the role continuing beyond this period
