SEMH Youth Worker – Bootle
Full Time | Long Term | £90–£100 per day
Chalk Education is currently recruiting an experienced SEMH Youth Worker to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a school setting in Bootle.
This is a full-time, long-term role, ideal for someone passionate about behaviour support and making a positive impact on young people who face emotional and behavioural challenges.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
The Role:
- Supporting children with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals
- Acting as a positive role model and providing consistent support throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with SEMH and challenging behaviour (essential)
- Experience in education, youth work, care, or similar settings
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people

- References confirming suitability for role

- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
