Chalk Education is delighted to be partnering with a specialist primary school in Liverpool that supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those with backgrounds of attachment difficulties and trauma. We are looking for a committed, proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time, long-term basis.
About the Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with primary-aged pupils who benefit from consistent, nurturing support. You will help to create a calm, structured environment where children feel safe, valued, and ready to learn. This role is ideal for someone who can build trusting relationships quickly and confidently guide pupils through day-to-day challenges.

Experience supporting children with SEMH needs

Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain clear, consistent boundaries

A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to use initiative

Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed

The ability to work collaboratively within a committed staff team
