Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary School Teachers to inspire and educate students across a range of subjects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting students' academic growth, and fostering a positive learning environment. Experience in special education and behaviour management is highly desirable, along with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.

This position is working in various schools across Wakefield on an ad hoc supply basis both on daily cover and longer term general cover.

Responsibilities

  • Follow plans and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the national curriculum and school policies.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and share best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behaviour.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience

  • Proven experience in teaching at secondary school level across various subjects, preferably including English.
  • Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) and behaviour management techniques is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of inspiring students and collaborating effectively with colleagues.

You will also need:

o References confirming suitability for role

Commitment to Safeguarding

o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service

o Eligibility to work in the UK
