School Caretakers – Flintshire

Job Description

Chalk education currently has an opportunity for 2 full-time school Caretakers to work in a large Secondary school in Flintshire. As a Caretaker you will be responsible for the maintenance of the buildings which includes cleaning, simple repairs, and security. Commitment to the role is vital, as the successful applicants will be required to open or close the school building /gates each morning or evening.

These roles are to start in September 2022 on a long-term contract, Monday to Friday. Pays £12 per hour

1st Caretaker hours- 7am – 11am then 3pm – 6:30pm

2nd Caretaker hours – 10:30am – 6:30pm

Duties for this role will include:

• Cleaning the building and supervising a team of Cleaners
• Gardening and performing landscape duties
• Inspecting the building, including heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required
• Opening and locking up the building, locking all doors and windows when not in operation
• Adhering to the company’s safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone

Additional requirements:

• Experienced School Caretaker
• Relevant Health & Safety and COSHH training

• References confirming suitability for role
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willing to apply
• Eligibility to work in the UK
