Part-Time SEMH Primary Teacher

Location: Childwall, Liverpool
Working Pattern: 3–4 days per week (part-time)
Employer: Chalk Education

Chalk Education is working in partnership with a primary school in Childwall to recruit an experienced and resilient SEMH Primary Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis.

This role involves covering PPA across the school and working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including attachment and trauma-related difficulties. The successful candidate will provide a consistent, calm and confident presence, building positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be an experienced Primary Teacher with strong knowledge of SEMH needs

  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure

  • Have experience supporting pupils with attachment and trauma backgrounds

  • Be flexible and adaptable, covering classes across the school

  • Be able to commit to 3–4 days per week

Important Information:

  • This is a highly challenging role

  • Not suitable for ECTs

  • Experience within SEMH settings, alternative provision, or trauma-informed environments is highly desirable
