Primary Teacher – SEND (Visual Impairment)

Chalk Education is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Wavertree to recruit a passionate and committed Primary Teacher. This is a full-time position within a nurturing and highly supportive setting for pupils with visual impairments, many of whom have one or more additional needs.

The Role:

As a Primary Teacher within this specialist SEND provision, you will:

• Plan and deliver creative, inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils

• Adapt teaching approaches and resources to support children with visual impairments

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including complex learning and physical needs

• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and external professionals

• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets

• Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has experience teaching in a primary setting (SEND experience is desirable but not essential)

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of inclusive and adaptive teaching practices

• Is patient, flexible, and committed to supporting pupils with complex needs

• Is confident working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
