Chalk Education is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Mentors to support the wellbeing, development, and day-to-day success of children across educational settings in Warrington.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with young people and making a positive impact on their social, emotional, and academic development. You will play a key role in supporting pupils to thrive, working closely with a supportive and collaborative team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing tailored pastoral support to promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing, confidence, and engagement in learning

Supporting learning activities across core subjects, including reading and maths

Implementing positive behaviour management strategies to encourage cooperation and focus

Supporting children with SEND, adapting approaches to meet individual needs

Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals (e.g. SEN specialists, speech and language therapists) to contribute to personalised support plans

Mentoring pupils to develop life skills, independence, and resilience
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships

Experience using effective behaviour management strategies

A patient, empathetic, and organised approach

Flexibility to adapt support strategies to different learning styles and individual needs

Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or related fields (desirable but not essential)

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
