Nursery Nurse/EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: St. Helens

Hours of work: 8:30am-12:30pm

Pay: up to £12.82ph

Chalk Education Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Nursery Nurser/Teaching Assistant for a part-time position at a friendly primary school in St. Helens. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and make a positive impact on young learners.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small support for a child with additional needs in their EYFS setting, helping them engage with the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence. The role requires a strong understanding of child development and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students. The position is part-time, and offers a chance to contribute to the early stages of children's education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities for EYFS students.
  • Assist with the development of children's literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils as needed.
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and report observations to the class teacher.
  • Support children with additional needs in line with their individual plans.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in an EYFS setting (minimum of 1 year).
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to Safeguarding
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
