Teaching Assistant Level 2
Start date: ASAP | Fixed‑term until 31 August 2026
About the Role
We at Chalk Education are working in partnership to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a primary phase school in Knowsley. You will provide 1:1 support for a Reception‑aged pupil with an Educational Health & Care Plan (EHCP), supporting their access to learning, independence and communication within a friendly and inclusive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised support programmes, adapting tasks and activities to the needs of the child.
- Foster independent learning and communication skills in the pupil, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Assist with monitoring progress, providing observations and feedback to inform next steps in learning.
- Help maintain a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
- Liaise with colleagues, parents/carers and external specialists as required to support the holistic development of the pupil.
Person Specification
You will be someone who:
- Has achieved an NVQ/NCFE Level 2 Teaching Assistants’ qualification (or equivalent) and NQF Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy.
- Has recent experience working in a primary setting, and ideally with children who have special educational needs or disabilities.
- Is patient, positive, enthusiastic and shows initiative in supporting children’s learning and development.
- Can build warm, supportive relationships with children, colleagues and families, and is committed to working as part of a cohesive team.
- Is organised, flexible and resilient, able to respond to the demands of a dynamic learning environment.
