Chalk Education is currently recruiting for an Intervention Teacher to support a small group of dis-engaged students with social, emotional, mental health difficulties. This position is based in the alternative provision room as part of the mainstream school located in Denbighshire. The role will involve working with students on their literacy, numeracy, and skill. Applicants will have worked in a similar setting and have the ability to use de-escalation techniques to manage behaviours. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
This role is only 1 day per week, each Wednesday 9:00am-3:00pm to start asap.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Qualified Teacher with QTS
- A minimum of 2 terms Secondary teaching experience
- Experience of supporting students with mental health difficulties
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work and deal with unpredictable challenges
- Creative approach to organising activities and engaging groups of children
- Be able to differentiate lessons for children with additional learning needs
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willing to apply
- EWC registration or willing to apply
- Eligibility to work in the UK
