HLTA | SEND School
Location: St. Helens
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 1st Dec 2025

Chalk Education is currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a fantastic SEND school in St. Helens on a full-time, long-term basis.

We are looking for a confident and committed HLTA with strong classroom-based experience who is able to lead sessions when required. You’ll be working closely with teachers to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

• Level 4 HLTA qualification (essential)
• Experience working in SEND settings or supporting pupils with additional needs
• Confidence to lead lessons or small groups in the absence of a teacher
• A solid understanding of classroom dynamics and effective behaviour management
• A genuine passion for supporting children's development and well-being
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

The Role:

• Support teaching staff in delivering tailored learning to meet the individual needs of students
• Lead small group interventions and cover lessons as required
• Assist in monitoring student progress and contributing to EHCP targets
• Work collaboratively with other staff members and external professionals
