Are you an experienced Health & Social Care Teacher or, Head of Health & Social Care looking for a new challenge? We are currently recruiting for a Lead Health & Social Care Teacher / Head of Department to join a large secondary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The progressive school is looking for an inspirational and committed teacher to work with an ambitious SLT.

This post is ideal for an experienced Health & Social Teacher or a Head of Health & Social care looking for a new and exciting challenge. Facilities are excellent and you will have access to an abundance of resources. Leadership are friendly and supportive, and there is an emphasis on interdepartmental cooperation.  This school is on a upwards trajectory and, is determined to find the right person to lead the Health &  Social Care Department forward, on the journey to becoming an “Outstanding School”.


Job role:

  • To raise standards of student attainment and progress within Health & Social Care
  • Developing and enhancing teaching practices of others
  • Performance management of a small team of teaching and support staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Faculty Development Plan and be accountable for impact in specific areas
  • Ensuring that curriculum development is ongoing and takes account of local and national agendas

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • PGCE or other Teaching qualification, with QTS
  • Excellent subject knowledge, specialising in Science
  • Ability to teach Science to KS3 & KS4
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH
  • Strong Behaviour Management
  • Flexible approach and positive attitude
