Chalk Education is recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at a school in Stoke-on-Trent on a part-time basis. This role involves working with students of various ages, helping them develop critical skills in literacy and numeracy, as well as other essential competencies.

Our client is a world leading tuition provider, committed to providing exceptional educational support to students. This role will involve planning and delivering tuition to students from Reception – A-Levels. You will need to be able to teach Functional Skills, English and/or Maths to a good standard. For this tutoring role, you will need to build relationships with students, show understanding and have a creative approach to learning.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this 1:1 Tutor role you will need:

• UK PGCE or other relevant teaching qualification
• UK experience preparing students for GCSEs
• Good subject knowledge in 1 or 2 UK secondary school curriculum areas
• UK experience with SEND, such as SEMH, MLD and ASD
• Excellent behaviour management
• Flexible and calm approach, with a caring attitude
