Chalk are looking for a caring TA to start as soon as possible in a friendly Special School in Coventry.

Job Description

This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting SEND children developing at EYFS stage, so you will need good understanding and experience of Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS). You will work closely with the class teacher supporting the children across various activities, while providing a happy and safe learning environment.

This welcoming and inclusive special school supporting pupils aged 7–18 with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including complex medical needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

We are looking for caring and committed individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full potential. Experience of working with SEND is desirable. Knowledge of alternative communication approaches and manual handling would be beneficial, and training will be provided.

To be considered for this role you will need:

· Experience supporting young people with SEND and complex needs

· Good understanding of EYFS

· Excellent communication skills (knowledge of Makaton, AAC device, BSL)

· Strong behaviour management

· A caring and positive attitude with a flexible approach
