Are you passionate about English and are you be able to engage students who face barriers to learning?
Chalk is recruiting for an English Tutor to work with small groups of students across the secondary age range (11-16 years) who require additional support, in a mainstream school setting.
Our client school is a large secondary academy, and they are keen to support their students to progress and to minimise the impact of the COVID pandemic and school closures. A number of students that you will be working with have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues, and as such you will need excellent behaviour management, with knowledge of a range of de-escalation techniques. This role would suit an NQT, unqualified teacher or experienced tutor.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this English Tutor role you will need:
- A teaching qualification or recent experience as a Tutor
- Good subject knowledge specialising in English
- Experience with SEND, such as SEMH, MLD and ASD
- Excellent behaviour management
- Flexible and calm approach, with a caring attitude
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Commitment to safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Benefits
- Support from dedicated and knowledgeable specialist consultants
- Continual professional development through online training
- Competitive pay rates related to your experience
- Opportunities within a range of schools and provisions
- Refer a friend bonus with £150 in vouchers
