Join a fantastic special school in Farnborough, equipped with outstanding facilities including therapy rooms and sensory rooms, as well as expansive outdoor spaces. We support students aged 3-19 with a broad spectrum of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including complex medical needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism, Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), and challenging behaviours. Every student has a Statement of Educational Needs and an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) to ensure they receive personalized support and care.
Job Description:
In this exciting permanent role, every day will be both fulfilling and dynamic! You'll provide 1:1 support to students throughout their entire school day, from actively engaging with them in the classroom to assisting during lunch and break times to ensure they have a positive experience. Collaborating closely with the class teacher, you'll help facilitate interactive activities and contribute to a vibrant, safe, and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will also include safeguarding and enhancing students' welfare, ensuring they feel cared for and secure every step of the way.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone with experience in supporting young people with SEND and complex needs, who is confident in delivering personal care. Excellent communication skills and strong behaviour management abilities are essential, alongside a caring and positive attitude with a flexible approach. You will need to provide references confirming your suitability for the role, demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, and possess an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one. Additionally, training in SEND-related subjects such as PEC and Team-Teach is highly beneficial!
