Classroom Support Assistant
Start Date: ASAP | Term‑time only | Part‑time
About the Role
We at Chalk Education are seeking to recruit a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to work within a thriving primary setting in Liverpool. This position involves 1‑1 support for pupils, helping to develop independence and communication/interactions within a nurturing class team.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside teaching staff to provide targeted support to individual pupils with additional needs, including ADHD/SEMH/complex needs.
- Foster independence in pupils by encouraging participation, communication and interaction in class.
- Assist in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where all learners feel safe, supported and challenged.
- Liaise with class teachers, support staff and other professionals to monitor pupil progress and adapt support accordingly.
- Show initiative and commitment to the role, contributing to the wider school ethos.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with pupils who have ADHD, Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs or other complex needs.
- Is highly committed, proactive, and shows initiative in supporting children’s learning and growth.
- Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Is organized, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Is passionate about supporting children’s development and fostering inclusive learning.
