Are you an experienced child support worker who specialises in additional learning needs?

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge working in a school?

Chalk is recruiting for a teaching assistant who has experience in support work with children's mental health. This is a long-term placement starting asap for students of low-level ability, you will be working in a friendly and supportive environment of a mainstream Primary School near Rhyl.

 

Job Description

This role will involve supporting year 5 and 6 students with a variety of additional needs to include social emotional mental health, anxiety disorders and mild behaviours.

The school ideally wants to offer a candidate full-time but will consider a part-time job share. The role will be to work ongoing throughout 2022 with a view to going permanent.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

 

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 months experience of working with children
  • Experience in additional learning needs
  • Experience in anxiety or mental health would be an advantage
  • To be enthusiastic and encouraging with a calm and positive manner

 

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for role
  • Commitment to Safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willing to apply
  • EWC registration or willing to apply
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
