Position: Behaviour Support Worker
Pay Rate: £525 - £595 per week
Location: Leeds
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term, ASAP Start until July 2026

Are you looking for a role where your experience as a coach, youth worker, mentor or support worker can directly help young people thrive? Chalk Education is recruiting for a school in Wakefield that provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils.
What you’ll do as a Behaviour Support Worker
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs in a mainstream setting
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Act as a trusted adult and positive role model
- Reinforce routines, structures and individual support plans
- Encourage confidence, independence and social development
- Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor progress
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need direct school experience to apply. This role is ideal for someone with a background in youth work, coaching, mentoring or support work who wants to transition into education. You will be someone who:
- Can stay calm, patient and consistent in challenging situations
- Builds strong, respectful relationships with young people
- Is resilient, emotionally intelligent and adaptable
- Is motivated to develop a rewarding career in education
Essential requirements
- References confirming suitability to work with children
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
