We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team, helping to ensure a positive and conducive learning environment for all our students.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who may experience behavioural challenges. Your primary focus will be to work with individual students and small groups, helping them to develop positive behaviours and social skills. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff members to create and implement behaviour management strategies that promote a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of individual behaviour plans and strategies.
  • Work one-on-one with students who require additional support to manage their behaviour.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of behaviour intervention programs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting self-esteem and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist in the supervision of students during breaks and lunchtimes.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or special educational needs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a primary school.

The ideal candidate exudes outstanding behavioural management skills, radiates a calm demeanour, and excels at customizing approaches to suit individual needs. Prior experience in handling challenging behaviour, addressing mental health concerns, or supporting SEN children is highly sought after for this role, along with a clean DBS.
