Experienced Autism Support Worker
Mainstream Primary School – St Helens
Full-time | Long-term | Term-time only
Chalk Education is seeking an experienced Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in St Helens. This is a full-time, long-term, term-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to access learning and thrive in a classroom environment.
This role offers stability, consistency, and the opportunity to make a real difference, with permanent opportunities available for the right candidate.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and/or small group support for pupils with Autism
- Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
- Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans
- Promoting inclusion and positive behaviour within the classroom
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience supporting children with Autism, ideally in a school setting
- Is patient, nurturing, and confident supporting additional needs
- Understands behaviour support strategies and sensory needs
- Is reliable, committed, and passionate about inclusive education
