Chalk Education are recruiting for a number of Behaviour Mentors and Residential Social Workers to work in this SEN (ASD) school based in Chester city centre. This is a permanent, full-time role Mon-Fri 8.45-4.45/5pm ( for the behaviour mentor) alternative hours for the Support worker, to start as soon as possible.
The Salary is £22500-£26500 and has 13 weeks paid holiday included!!!!!!
The Provision provides a bespoke curriculum to young people who are not able to access mainstream education. Students have a range of SEND including Social Emotional & Mental Health, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Pupils may display challenging behaviour, so excellent behaviour management is essential with knowledge of a range of de-escalation techniques.
To be considered for this Learning Support Assistant role you will need:
- Experience working with individuals with SEND - mainly ASD/Complex Needs
- To be confident and comfortable supporting young people who may demonstrate challenging behaviours
- To have strong communication skills and the ability to engage young people
- Excellent organisational skills
- To have a flexible approach to your work, often being required to work across different departments and student age groups, on a daily basis
- A flexible and calm approach, with a caring attitude
