Teaching Assistant – Altringham

Chalk Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work at this excellent Alternative provision. This school caters for students ages 11-16 years where most students have been permanently excluded from school. Some of the students attend the school as a result of problematic behaviour in their mainstream school, due to periods of non-attendance.  Some children and young people will face real difficulties in their lives that have created these significant barriers to learning. The ideal applicant will have experience of teaching children in Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 who are of low-level ability to GCSE. Experience of supporting students with social emotional mental health and anxiety difficulties is essential.

To be considered for this SEMH Teacher role you will need:

• Ideally Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or similar- not essential
• Experience working with young people with a range SEND including SEMH
• Excellent behaviour management with knowledge of de-escalation techniques
• A positive attitude with a calm but firm approach
• Passionate to work with children
