Chalk Education is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN Provision that provides alternative education for pupils who require a more tailored and nurturing learning environment.

Alternative education supports children and young people who may face challenges in mainstream education, including:

• Behavioural needs, such as persistent disruptive behaviour or risk of exclusion
• Medical needs that impact regular school attendance
• Learning difficulties, including conditions such as ADHD or dyslexia
• Emotional and social challenges, such as anxiety, trauma, or low self-esteem

We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and experienced Special Education Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEN, SEMH, and communication difficulties
• Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
• Working closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting children, ideally within a school, SEN, or alternative provision setting
• A valid and up-to-date DBS (registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply)
• A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
• A reliable, enthusiastic individual confident in supporting diverse learning needs
