Description
Chalk Education is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Secondary School that provides education for pupils who require a more tailored and nurturing learning environment and are looking for a SEND Support Assistant on a full time basis.
The post is to work within a mainstream school across the school and within a resource provision.
- Behavioural needs, such as persistent disruptive behaviour or risk of exclusion
- Medical needs that impact regular school attendance
- Learning difficulties, including conditions such as ADHD or dyslexia
- Emotional and social challenges, such as anxiety, trauma, or low self-esteem
We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and experienced Special Education Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEN, SEMH, and communication difficulties
- Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children, ideally within a school, SEN, or alternative provision setting
- A valid and up-to-date DBS (registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply)
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
- A reliable, enthusiastic individual confident in supporting diverse learning needs
