Behaviour Support Assistant
Are you passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) thrive academically, socially, and emotionally? Chalk Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistants to join our partner primary schools across South Liverpool.
This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by providing 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils overcome behavioural, emotional, and learning barriers so they can fully access the curriculum and enjoy school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted behaviour and learning support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.
- Implement, review, and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and effective approach for each child.
- Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels safe and supported.
- Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques to help pupils regulate and engage.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEND or challenging behaviour, ideally in a school or care setting.
- A patient, resilient, and caring approach.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward engaging pupils in their learning.
